The Poem of the Man-God by Maria Valtorta

Detailed description of the life and times of Christ as given through Maria Valtorta.

Maria Valtorta is a bed ridden woman who claimed one day that she could hear voices, voices that would urge her to write them down on a piece of notebook. Later she realized that these voices came from God himself.  Everyday she would write them down, often she claims that she herself doesn't understand what she has written. She herself proclaimed that she has not used any human sources.

A lot of controversy surrounded around this book, for instant people would claim that she is just a sick woman who is hallucinating. But still there are still unexplained things surrounding her work on how can she be so knowledgeable  when it comes to the topographic, geological and mineralogical aspect of the Holy Land is unexplainable.

Maria Valtorta's writing takes you in the world of Jesus, which such detailed and visual when it comes to the surrounding and the people involved. Unlike the Bible, that only explain the events that are happening, Maria's book will tell you far more detailed things about Jesus's life.

This book answered a lot of my questions which for some reason is very hard to find inside the Bible. For example, on why did the God put the Tree of Knowledge inside Eden in the first place? Or how come Jesus is said to be the first son and Mary the first woman, when he created Adam and Eve first.

I also learned a lot about Mary's life, on how old she was when she got engage to Joseph who is in his thirties, while Mary is only fifteen, or how she struggled on hiding the truth about her annunciation from the Angel Gabriel, from her spouse Joseph.

If your interested in reading the Bible but could not finish even a page of it because of the lack of details, and was just a really confuse read for you, then I suggest picking up this book! Once you picked it up I'm sure it will change your religious life forever! You will simply know your God and Jesus in this book, and on how much they care for you.

My Book Shelf

I don't have a large collection of books yet because I try to read slow and I have no money to buy lots of books, I rely on my mom on that, lol. I'm currently looking for a job so I can buy more books in the future. =^-^=

I also posted this because hopefully you will all see the changes in my book-shelf as it grows through the months to come.

In My Mailbox #1

This is my first "in my mailbox" post. So exciting! Actually I just usually buy books at the bookstores, I rarely buy books on the net, so this is my first book buy from multiply! I also bought them because they are pretty cheap, they are secondhand books, both have crease front cover, bah, but who cares as long as I can read them, besides creases adds personality to the book! Bought them for $1 each.

Meridian by Amber Kizer - a story about half-human, half-angel.

Skinned by Robin Wasserman - download your brain into a new body. This book has also been renamed by Miss Robin, it is now named Frozen, and has a new beautiful cover!

Book Frustraion and Doll Pride

So first the Bad news then the Good (old) news.

My Book Frustration, is about this book, which I just bought yesterday. Baught it because they have 30%off, and besides its rare to find a recent YA novel for sale, so I bought it for a total of $2.
I was really excited to read it, so when I got back home, I read it! After 20 pages, I was like, "Why can't I understand a thing? O.O" I look it up on Goodreads and found out that this is the 5th installment of Maximum Ride novel! OTL
I thought I hit a jackpot on this one. I mean come on! The 5th installment was "MAX Maximum Ride" novel, so I thought it was the first in the series, truns out I was wrong. Now I'm obligated to hunt down the first four books before I could read this one. -sigh-

Now for my Doll Pride!
I bought this exclusive doll just this month, for a fair price! Which is really fantastic since this doll cost $100+ on ebay. Yes I know its an old story, but I just wanna counter act this frustartions of mine with a positive thinking! =D
This doll I'm talking about is non other than my first exclusive doll ever, and probably the most expensive doll I have, San Deigo Comic Con Ghoulia Dead Fast!

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

The Mortal War is over, and Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most important of all—Clary can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second bloody war. Clary’s best friend, Simon, can’t help her. His mother just found out he’s a vampire and now he’s homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side—along with the power of the curse wrecking his life. And they’re willing to do anything to get what they want. At the same time he’s dating two beautiful, dangerous girls—neither of whom knows about the other.

When Jace begins to pull away from Clary without explaining why, she is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: She herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

Forth installment bring it on! I'm one of those people who celebrated when I found out that there are going to be three more books in my favorite series.
I heard a lot of people says that she no longer needed to add more books in the series because the trilogy is great as it is, but as fan of TMI, I beg to differ! In my heart I knew I still needed more! xP

For me this book is about fighting your inner demons and finding the strength to forgive yourself.

In this book, I didn't see much changes in Clary's growth, yes she is training to be a shadowhunter now but she still weak as a mundane here, brave but weak. What I do love about her in this book is that her faith in Jace is as strong as ever.

Jace here in the CoFA, is much more vulnerable since he has been revive from the dead by the Angel Raziel, expose from all evil like a newly born baby. I can totally see that Jace can be as fragile as a vase whenever it comes to Clary.

Simon on the other hand has finally became mature in my eyes. In this book you can feel the struggle he has in exposing the truth when it comes to his secret life as a vampire. Simon also struggled here with the fact that no matter how many times he tries to act human, the more
he finds himself struggle, with the vampire side of him.

I love how I couldn't guess who the villain was! It was really unexpected.
I also love the climax! I wasn't expecting the person who was once weak can now deafeat someone strong.
I did however expected the ending,  in order for the book to progress to the next book.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

I love this book! This book is also my first adult novel! Out of all the books I've read this book is the only book I've read over and over again. Whenever I reread it, I feel like I should read the entire novel not just to skim it but to read it like it was my first time, and I always ended up reading the entire novel, of course!

Humans are strong species, we have vast emotions that are proven to be far too much to handle by this alien called "Souls".

Souls are aliens that has invaded are planet, souls are creatures of this story whom I cannot hate, due to there kind nature and less hostile attitude.
Humans did not forsee the inavation since they took over without using any violence. They had planted there selves within the human brain to take over not only the body but also planet earth.

Wanda or Wanderer is one of the souls, she has been implanted within the head of Melanie Stryder one of the remaining human resistance. At first Melanie and Wanda couldn't agree with each other, but as time passes by they end up caring for each other, and understanding there differences.

Despite the Souls being the "invader" they are actually not the villains of this book, mostly because almost half the of the book is about the human resistances who are trying to survive on the destert. Now because our heroine is Wanda, the soul inside Melanie, the villains in the book tends to be the humans inside the mountain. They are constantly trying to kill Wanda, but despite that I also feel sympathetic to the humans who are going through this. Some at first are hate-able, but towards the end you will sure to like some of them.

The love triangle between Wanda, Jared and Melanie is very emotional!
As ,Miss Stephenie describes the emotions between Wanda and Melanie, you will feel like the body that they are sharing is almost being torn apart with this two emotions mixing together! If being heartbroken hurts, it will hurt more if you have two beings inside you, its twice the heartbreak.

The different planets that Wanda used to live in, are very magical and fantasy like! I love how vivid Miss Stephenie's imaginations is! It makes you wonder, what if those planets existed, would you live in it?

5/5 stars!

Gloom Beach Cleo Review

Monster High dolls are posable just like Barbie. My Cleo is also shorter than Barbie, probably same hight as Skipper doll (little sister of Barbie), sadly I don't have any skiiper doll to compare.>x<;;

Anyways, Monster High dolls has removable arms and hands, so its easy taking off or putting on the clothes.

There are also different hand molds that is available for the Monster High doll, down side is you have to buy a whole doll just so you can get a differenst set of hand mold. My Gloom Beach Cleo has diiferent hand mold than the First wave Basic Cleo.Actually all the Gloom Beach Dolls have different hand molds than the Basic ones.

I've used Basic Frankie Stein to compare with Gloom Beach Cleo

Now lets go to the hair of my doll, my Cleo's hair is made from saran, so its smooth and soft, her hair also includes golden tinsels everywhere, her bangs, her ponytail, to give her that egypitian look, she is after all the Daughter of the Mummy.
I for one, is one of those who likes her tinsel hair, because I noticed that a lot of people tend to compalain, that the tinsels makes her look ugly, but I beg to differ!

I love the yellow, black and teal color going on, on her outfit, the yellow bandage like swimsuit, the teal wraps on her waist, her yellow pyramid shaped earings, her lovely and well detailed hand fan, her mummy wraps(plastic) on her left arm and right feet, which I might add are too loose. >.<;; And her gorgeus teal birck sandals. Also her cool teal shades.! She has black stand and a black hairbrush that came with her.

Also let us not forget her postal card for Ghoulia, and at the back is her photo, looking clawsome!

I've also heard alot of compalins about her "Skimmpy" swimsuit, yes its a little revealing but come on, its a bathing suit! And you have to remember her theme is egytian, so no wonder her swimsuit is made from bandages.

I highly recommend this doll, not just Gloom Beach Cleo, but the entire Monster High Dolls! This dolls are very well detailed and possable, its fun to photograph them. This dolls are also often use to customize and create new dolls, so if you like you can create your very own monster!

Doll Obsession

I love dolls! Yes, I said it! I loooveee dolls!
I'm not shy to admit it! I mean, I'm 21 but I still obsess with dolls.
Right now my recent obsession is the famous Monster High dolls.
Have you heard about it?
Well if not, don't worry your not alone. Most people here in the Philippines haven't have the slightest idea what Monster High dolls is, but ironic enough, they are like the new Barbie in other countries like U.S., Canada, etc....

Here it is, I present you the Monster High Dolls!

Cool aren't they?
Anyways this Monster High Dolls are made non other than Mattle, the creators of Barbie!
I too can't believe that Mattle has created such clawsome and fangtastic dolls!

As I grow up I find other old dolls lines, like Barbie, Bratz, etc.... rather boring (snore!) and too girly for my taste, but when I saw Monster High dolls, I found them rather interesting and creative, I just literally fell in love with them! I mean come on! They are the offspring of famous monsters!

Right now I have four Monster High dolls! Yes, what a very small collection, but you can't blame me, Mattle has yet to sell these dolls here in the Philippines, they are only available in ebay and some hobby shops. T_T

My first Monster High doll is a Gloom Beach Cleo De Nile, a gift I receive from my aunt in Canada! I'm soo happy when I got her! I've been wanting a Monster High doll for a year now, so when I received her last year of December, I was squealing in happiness like a little girl! xD

Her picture while she is still in the box.

I took this picture the next day I got her. I love her fan! So elegant! I'll review Gloom Beach Cleo later on or tomorrow.

Introduction (first booblog!)

Hello everyone! this will be my first entry here in my BooBirdBook Blog!
Now I'm sure you are all wondering why did I named my blog BooBird? Well I named it after my little friend here whose name is Boo-boo! He is a Parakeet or some might call a Budgie, he is now 2years old and still very healthy, I might add!

Although his tamed, he can be very arrogant and be over protective to himself. xD
My little sister and I would sometimes address him as a prince due to his arrogant nature, but still, we love him anyway!

Now back to my blog! I will be mostly blogging about my hobbies, like reading (book review!), doll photography (which by the way I suck at, and hopefully I'll improve in time), drawing (I suck at this as well Dx) and maybe some random things about my pets and little about my boring life.

Also, you all can call me Jam, my nickname in real life. I'm 21yr old and I'm from the Philippines!
I'm a book lover, animal loving, k-pop and anime fanatic, doll obsessing, ice cream eater kinda gal.
